What is proton therapy?
Proton therapy is a therapy for the treatment of cancerous ulcers, i.e. malignant tumours. Proton beams are generated and accelerated in a synchrotron or cyclotron, for example, and shot specifically at the tumor….
Why proton therapy?
Proton irradiation allows higher effective doses to be administered to the tumour, with much fewer side effects at the same time…
Who are we?
We are a group of independent doctors on the Iberian Peninsula, Spain and Portugal, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. Under the name CONSILIUM® we show the possibilities of proton therapy and help patients to receive this treatment after prior clarification.
Proton therapy is a scientifically founded form of cancer treatment, but it is completely unknown to wide sections of the population – we want to remedy this situation.
What we do
In the case of cancer, time is an essential factor. CONSILIUM® begins with an immediate review of the patient’s medical history, a review of the therapy protocol, rapid contact with the RPTC proton therapy centre, any necessary additional findings and subsequent referral to proton therapy.
Currently, there is no treatment option with protons on the Iberian Peninsula. Patients entitled to proton therapy treatment are therefore referred to the centre with the most experience in Europe, the RPTC in Munich (Germany).
